dawg b.e.a.c.h

it was a standard day, sun-setting as skim boarders show off their tricks, oversized planes fly overhead, the gleam of rays fall upon this beauty we find something society does not consider beauty. a drunkard who has fallen is staggering to get up from the rocky shore as the on-duty life guard vrooms away on his 4wheeler. homeless. lost. insecure. we label him. he lives for another day, another try. the birds fly by as the dogs bark anxiously at one another, the dazed man still sets his eyes on what lies ahead, unknowing what that may be. he begins to get his feet wet literally as he soaks his unmatched shoes in the water. we see yet a thing some may consider beauty. the lonely girl opens her arms wide as if she’s praising jesus and says thank you. thank you and good night ocean beach. a nonconforming-no money-making-half decent- artist who has a diverse take on beauty, walks away getting his already dirty chucks sandy. he stares as his sunset inspiration fades washing his dreams to another day, waiting for tomorrow to make its way. to forget his sorrows and cleanse his views, s l o w l y disappearing from beauty to become disguised in his memory.

give me your sight oh Lord

O Lord, open my eyes that I may see the needs of others; open my ears that I may hear their cries; open my heart so that they need not be without succor; let me not be afraid to defend the weak because of the anger of the strong, nor afraid to defend the poor because of the anger of the rich ... And so open my eyes and my ears that I may this coming day be able to do some work of peace for thee.
